Colleen brings a rich and varied background to the House, spanning healthcare administration, higher education, philanthropy, and government. Across each chapter of her career, one thing has remained constant: a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others — whether helping a constituent navigate a challenge, advocating for students and their communities, or improving care for patients, families and caregivers.
Most recently, Colleen served as Vice President of External Affairs & Government Relations for Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and White Plains Hospital. During her nearly 15 years at Burke Rehabilitation, she became the hospital’s first Vice President of Patient Experience, where she led the creation of the Marsal Family Caregiver Center — a groundbreaking center dedicated to patients’ families and their caregivers, and the only one of its kind at a rehabilitation hospital nationwide.
Colleen got her start in the Congressional office of Representative Nita M. Lowey and went on to become Mercy University’s first Director of Government & Community Relations.
A longtime member of the Westchester community, Colleen has spent much of her professional life building relationships across healthcare, government, business and nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
She serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Westchester and co-chairs its Women in Business Council, reflecting her longstanding belief in bringing individuals and organizations together around shared goals.
Colleen has always been drawn to work that makes a meaningful difference. During her years in healthcare, that focus deepened as she saw firsthand the profound impact a serious health challenge can have not only on patients, but on those who love and care for them.
That perspective shaped her belief in caring for the whole family and aligns deeply with the mission of Ronald McDonald House Westchester: providing comfort, connection and support while keeping families close to their children when they need it most.
